Small Group Discussion/Process 2&3

From my small discussion, two major points of interest emerged as I presented my project; to utilize collage more than watercolor and to think about s structure that would hold up my book. With the watercolor works that I presented, my group thought that it would be best if I considered using collage just due to my unfamiliarity with watercolor which I completely understand. As for thinking about a structure that would support my book, I think would add more depth and intrigue to the overall craft. These two sets of feedback stood out the most to me due to wondering if I should continue using watercolor due to my inexperience with it and most significantly, to plan how I would present the finished project. Going forward, I will rework the current illustrations that I created and I will create a pedestal that would hold my work. I will also think about what other elements I would add to the book and its surroundings during the critique. Overall, the discussion has given me a clear insight into how my project is going and what other elements I should consider for the craft of the illustrations. One factor that surprised me was that I should provide a clear emphasis on a dream-like narrative and blend my own life experiences into the book. This would provide a deeper connection to the story and hopefully to the audience as well. My emotional response was pretty positive even with the setbacks of my watercolor skills but, I hope that the change of medium might provide a more interesting composition than the watercolor. From my peers, they provide a clear focus on the thought process of their work and they want to create all have different types of ideas and processes that make their work just as interesting as mine. Here is my work so far.
